MORRISVILLE, NC — August 24, 2006 — FarPoint Technologies, Inc., a world leader in enterprise spreadsheet solutions, announces the immediate availability of Spread for BizTalk®, a pipeline disassembler for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 that parses Microsoft Excel® data into an XLS data stream. Customers looking to automate more of the business process can now achieve control over Excel spreadsheet data by using Spread for BizTalk to convert Microsoft Excel® XLS data into XML for easy integration in business process orchestration.

Spread for BizTalk works with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 and Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005. The schema that determines the mapping of the resulting XML messages can be created using the built-in FarPoint Spreadsheet Schema Wizard that integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio® 2005. The wizard loads the source XLS file and supports multiple headers and empty rows. As well as specifying the data portion of the XLS file separate from the header and trailer information in the XLS file, it is also possible to stipulate which columns are record elements and which are record attributes in the generated schema. The schema created via the wizard can be set into the Spreadsheet Disassembler in the Disassemble stage of the BizTalk Pipeline process.
